Non-surgical under-eye treatment

Treatment overview

The area around the eyes is the first to reveal signs of fatigue and ageing — even when you feel well rested, dark circles can give an impression of exhaustion, heaviness or a “sad” look.

Non-surgical under-eye treatment is a precise, sophisticated approach that addresses the cause of the problem itself — loss of volume, shadows, thin translucent skin or uneven distribution of tissue in the area.

Hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers are most often used to restore volume in the so-called tear trough, reducing the shadow and producing a fresher, more rested appearance.

What makes this treatment particularly demanding — and exceptionally effective — is that it is performed in one of the most delicate regions of the face, requiring exceptional precision and experience.

Notably, dark circles are often caused not by pigmentation or thin skin alone, but precisely by the loss of volume that creates the shadow — which is exactly why correctly placed filler can dramatically improve the area without surgery.

This is also one of the regions that affects first impressions the most.

Patients often notice they look tired even when they’ve slept well, or that people around them ask “are you tired?” — even though they feel fine.

In professional settings, meetings or everyday interactions, the eyes carry a large part of the expression — when they look tired, they can leave an impression of exhaustion or low energy.

Non-surgical under-eye treatment doesn’t change the face — it removes that tired layer of expression and brings back a freshness that looks natural and understated.

How the treatment is performed

The treatment is carried out by injecting filler into the under-eye area.

During the procedure:

  • the structure of the region and the cause of the dark circles are assessed
  • the volume and depth of the tear trough are evaluated
  • filler is administered very precisely into the targeted zone

A cannula is most often used to increase safety and reduce the risk of bruising.

Who the treatment is for

The treatment is ideal for people who:

  • have pronounced dark circles or hollows under the eyes
  • look tired regardless of how well they’ve rested
  • want a fresher look without surgery
  • want a subtle, natural result

It’s important to note that not every case of dark circles is a candidate for filler — which is why a professional assessment is essential.

Our approach

The under-eye area calls for the highest level of precision and experience.

At our clinic the treatment is performed by dermatology specialists with experience working in this delicate region.

We don’t treat it routinely.

We first analyse the cause — because dark circles can have different reasons (volume, pigmentation, structure).

Only then do we decide whether filler is the optimal solution.

We take time to explain what is possible — and what isn’t — because we want realistic expectations and a safe result.

Patients usually notice they look more rested and fresher — without anyone being able to pinpoint exactly what was done.

Preparing for the treatment

Before the treatment, we recommend:

  • avoiding alcohol and certain medications (as advised by your doctor)
  • arriving with clean skin
  • letting your doctor know about any medication you’re taking

A topical anaesthetic cream may be used where needed.

Recovery and precautions

Recovery is minimal, although the area can be slightly more sensitive.

After the treatment:

  • mild swelling or bruising may occur
  • a tight feeling

Recommendations:

  • avoid putting pressure on the area
  • avoid physical activity on the same day
  • follow your doctor’s aftercare instructions

When results become visible

Results are visible immediately after the treatment.

The final result settles over a few days.

Outcome:

  • reduced dark circles
  • a fresher, more rested look
  • a natural result without an “artificial” effect

Treatment combinations

For an optimal result, the treatment is often combined with:

  • CO2 Smaxel — to improve the quality of the skin around the eyes
  • Candela Nordlys — for pigmentation and vascular changes
  • Morpheus8 — for skin tightening
  • HIFU — for lifting surrounding structures
  • Icoone Laser Med — for microcirculation

Additionally:

  • biostimulating treatments
  • individualised skincare

All combinations are planned individually — depending on the cause of the dark circles.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

Here you’ll find answers to the questions our clients most often ask about our services and treatments.

+ Can dark circles be treated without surgery?
In a great many cases — yes. Depending on the cause (loss of volume, pigmentation or skin quality), it’s possible to significantly improve the area with a combination of fillers (Restylane, Teosyal Redensity II), polynucleotides (Rejuran Eye) and treatments such as PRP.
+ Will I look puffy after the treatment?
No — when the right technique and product are used, the result is subtle and natural. Precision is key in this delicate region.
    + When are results visible?
The result is visible very quickly, with the final appearance settling over a few days once the area has fully calmed down.
+ How long does the effect last?
On average between 9 and 12 months, with variations depending on individual characteristics.
+ Is the treatment safe for the area around the eyes?
Yes — when performed with detailed knowledge of anatomy and the correct technique. That’s exactly why the choice of practitioner is critical.
    + Is the treatment painful?
Minimally uncomfortable, with anaesthetic used to reduce any sensation.
+ Why do dark circles often need an individual approach?
Because the cause isn’t always the same. In some patients volume is the dominant factor; in others it’s pigmentation or skin quality — which is why correct diagnosis is the foundation of a successful result.
