Treatment overview
The decision to remove a tattoo is often more than aesthetic — it is deeply personal. Styles evolve, life circumstances change, and sometimes we simply wish to begin afresh on our own skin.
Laser tattoo removal makes precisely that possible — a gradual, controlled process of eliminating pigment from the skin whilst preserving its integrity and structure to the greatest extent possible.
At our laser centre we use advanced systems including Candela Nordlys, which deliver precise, targeted action on pigments of various colours with an outstanding safety profile.
Notably, the pigment is not removed in a single session — rather, it is broken down into fine particles that the body gradually eliminates through its natural processes. It is precisely this mechanism that allows results to develop progressively and naturally.
How is the treatment performed?
The treatment is carried out by applying laser energy that selectively targets the ink within the tattoo.
During the session:
- the energy breaks the pigment down into fine particles
- the immune system gradually eliminates these particles via phagocytosis
- the tattoo becomes progressively lighter over time
The procedure is precise and controlled, with parameters adjusted to suit the type of pigment, depth, and age of the tattoo.
Who is the treatment for?
The treatment is ideal for individuals who:
- wish to remove a tattoo completely
- wish to partially remove a tattoo in preparation for a cover-up
- have an aesthetic or professional reason for removal
- seek a safe, medically supervised approach
It is suitable for a wide range of tattoo types, subject to individual assessment.
Our approach
Tattoo removal is a process — and it is precisely here that the difference in approach becomes evident.
At our clinic, every treatment is planned by a specialist dermatologist who assesses the type of pigment, its depth, age, and the skin’s response. On this basis, we define a realistic plan and set clear expectations.
We do not promise instant results — instead, we guide each patient through a process that is safe, controlled, and effective over the long term.
The time we dedicate to every patient allows us to explain each step, monitor the skin’s response, and adjust the treatment protocol accordingly — because that level of attention is precisely what distinguishes an average outcome from an excellent one.
Preparing for the treatment
Prior to the treatment, we recommend:
- avoiding sun exposure for at least two weeks beforehand
- refraining from applying irritating products to the tattooed area
- arriving with clean, product-free skin
A topical anaesthetic cream may be applied where required.
Recovery and precautions
Recovery is moderate and depends on the intensity of the treatment.
Possible reactions include:
- redness
- mild swelling
- formation of superficial scabbing
Aftercare guidance:
- avoid touching the treated area
- avoid sun exposure and apply SPF diligently
- follow the recommended aftercare protocol
When will results become visible?
Results develop gradually across multiple sessions.
After each treatment:
- the tattoo becomes lighter
- the pigment diminishes progressively
- the skin regenerates
Complete removal requires time, but it is precisely this gradual process that delivers the finest aesthetic outcome.
Treatment combinations
To achieve the optimal aesthetic result and maintain skin quality, the treatment may be combined with:
- Candela Nordlys — for additional pigment targeting and evening of skin tone
- CO2 Smaxel — for skin regeneration and reduction of any irregularities following removal
- Morpheus8 — for improving skin texture and stimulating collagen production
- HIFU — for additional skin tightening
- Icoone Laser Med — for stimulating microcirculation and supporting regeneration
Additionally, where indicated:
- skin regeneration treatments
- medical-grade peels
- targeted skin renewal therapies
Combinations are introduced thoughtfully — with the aim of ensuring the skin appears as natural and as healthy as possible following removal.
