Lip shaping and rejuvenation

Treatment overview

The lips play a unique role in facial expression — they aren’t just an aesthetic element; they strongly shape the impression of softness, freshness and harmony.

Over time the lips lose volume, hydration and a clearly defined contour. For some people the volume was never pronounced; for others, shape and fullness gradually fade.

Shaping and enhancing the lips with dermal fillers makes it possible to restore or subtly emphasise volume, definition and symmetry — with a fully natural look.

The treatment uses hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body, binds water and provides fullness, softness and hydration.

What makes this treatment sophisticated isn’t just adding volume — it’s shaping the lips in proportion to the face. That’s where the difference between an aesthetically pleasing result and an overdone one is made.

The modern approach is no longer “the bigger, the better” but “the more natural and balanced, the better”. The focus is on structure, movement and the relationship between the upper and lower lip.

Many patients arrive with a similar but rarely voiced feeling — that their lips look “thinner”, “understated” or have lost the softness they once had.

It often shows up in photographs, in conversation or in everyday situations — when the face seems sterner or less fresh than it really is.

This treatment doesn’t change the face — it brings back the subtle fullness and softness that makes the expression naturally more inviting.

How the treatment is performed

The treatment is carried out by injecting filler into precisely defined parts of the lips.

During the procedure:

  • the shape, proportion and symmetry of the lips are assessed
  • the desired result is defined (volume, contour, hydration)
  • filler is administered into the targeted zones

Very fine needles or cannulas are used, with maximum control and precision.

Who the treatment is for

The treatment is ideal for people who:

  • want to add volume to the lips
  • want to define the lip contour
  • have lip asymmetry
  • notice loss of volume with age
  • want a natural, subtle result

It’s also suitable for those who simply want to gently refresh their look without a dramatic change.

Our approach

With lips, one rule applies — less is more. If you notice the filler before you notice the lips, something hasn’t been done right.

At our clinic the treatment is performed by dermatology specialists who understand lip anatomy and facial proportions.

We don’t go “by volume on request” — we go by what is aesthetically and naturally optimal for your face.

We pay particular attention to:

  • symmetry
  • contour
  • the relationship between the upper and lower lip
  • natural lip movement

We take time over the consultation — because understanding what you want is the key to a good result.

The most common comment after treatment isn’t “I got my lips done” — it’s
“I look fresher and somehow softer.”

Preparing for the treatment

Before the treatment, we recommend:

  • avoiding alcohol and certain medications (as advised by your doctor)
  • arriving with clean skin
  • letting your doctor know about any medication you’re taking

A topical anaesthetic cream is used to keep the experience as comfortable as possible.

Recovery and precautions

Recovery is short and predictable.

After the treatment:

  • swelling and mild bruising are possible
  • a tight feeling for the first few days

Recommendations:

  • avoid putting pressure on the lips
  • avoid heat and intense activity on the same day
  • follow your doctor’s aftercare instructions

When results become visible

Results are visible immediately.

The final look settles over a few days, once any swelling has subsided.

Outcome:

  • fuller, defined lips
  • better hydration
  • a natural, balanced appearance

Treatment combinations

For a complete aesthetic result, the lip treatment is often combined with:

  • Candela Nordlys — for skin quality and even tone
  • CO2 Smaxel — for regeneration of the skin around the lips
  • Morpheus8 — for skin tightening
  • HIFU — for lifting the lower third of the face
  • Icoone Laser Med — for microcirculation and regeneration

Additionally:

  • Botox for the area around the lips (where indicated)
  • dermal fillers for other regions of the face

All combinations are planned individually — to keep the result harmonious and natural.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

Here you’ll find answers to the questions our clients most often ask about our services and treatments.

+ Will my lips look artificial?
No — the goal is to enhance the lips’ natural beauty while respecting facial proportions. When the treatment is planned individually, the result looks elegant and understated.
+ How much volume is ideal?
Whatever suits your face. In practice that often means subtle corrections that give a sophisticated rather than exaggerated result.
    + When are results visible?
The result is visible immediately, with the final appearance settling over a few days once the tissue calms down.
+ How long does the effect last?
On average between 6 and 12 months, with the option of touch-ups.
    + Is the treatment painful?
Minimally — a topical anaesthetic is used to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
+ Can I improve lip quality without adding volume?
Absolutely. There are techniques and products that specifically improve hydration and texture without increasing size.
+ Why does it matter who performs the treatment?
Because shaping the lips requires an exceptional eye for aesthetics and detail — that level of precision is what ensures a natural result.
